Julia Hausermann MBE

Founder and President of the not-for-profit association, Prof. Hausermann is a visionary pragmatist, who set up the organisation over 27 years ago. Rights and Humanity is the pioneer of the Human Rights Approach to Development. She is the author of the Rights and Humanity Principles of Responsibility and over the last two and a half decades has had a considerable influence on global policy and practice.

Vijay Mehta

Vijay Mehta is Chair for Uniting for Peace, President of Mehta Centre for Peace and Founding Trustee of Fortune Forum Charity. He is a renowned author and global activist for peace and human rights. Some of his notable books are ‘The Fortune Forum Code: For a Sustainable Future’, ‘Arms No More’ and his celebrated ‘The Economics of Killing.’

Lady Gaie Vickers

Gaie Vickers is a visionary, poet and patron of the arts, with a life-long commitment to spirituality and peace. She is the author of ‘The Hunter’s Horn’ and besides poetry, is a painter and lover of music and was formerly Vice President of the Summer Music Society of Dorset. Living in the West Country, Gaie has given ongoing support and encouragement to The Chandos.

FOUNDER
Anthony Russell

Anthony Russell is a cultural historian, writer and artist. He founded The Chandos on behalf of his family to promote the culture of understanding both personally and globally. He lectures internationally, sits on the All Party Political Group on Burma and the committee of Uniting for Peace and his book ‘Evolving the Spirit’ was praised by Aung San Suu Kyi.

Sean Wong MA MBA

Born in Hong Kong but spending most of his life in Europe, Sean Wong has a background in hospitality management and business administration. He is a tireless and generous supporter of The Chandos and responsible for its everyday administration. This he undertakes despite his responsibilities as the Audit Officer for the Cleft Services at St Thomas’ Hospital, Central London.

IN MEMORIAM

Kaliyaphani was one of the original disciples of the Hindu leader and founder of Hare Krishna, Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. As such, Kaliyaphani was a dedicated monk and teacher for many years. He had more recently been an inspiration to The Chandos and was a major contributor to the ideas within the book ‘Evolving the Spirit’. He was the brother of the founder and lived for many years in Florida, USA.
