SOME LOCAL WALKS
Because we’re surrounded on three sides by nature reserves there are great walks on the doorstep. Here are various suggestions:
REDGRAVE AND LOPHAM FEN NATIONAL NATURE RESERVE
WALK TO REDGRAVE AND THE CROSS KEYS PUB (45 Mins)
Not the quickest way (down Redgrave Road) but more peaceful.
2) THELNETHEM FEN and BLO NORTON (1 hour 30 mins)
This goes through the spectacular wildlife preserve bordering the Waverney River and past St Andrew’s, the parish church of Blo Norton, where Frederick Duleep Singh is buried. The prince was a remarkable occupant of Blo Norton Hall.
3) REDGRAVE PARK and LAKE (3 hours)
4) THE DULEEP SINGH SELF-GUIDED WALK (30 mins)
3) REDGRAVE PARK and LAKE (3 hours)
This circular walk goes through the Redgrave and Lopham Fens, in which the Fen landscape is beautifully contrasted with the undulating farmland to the south, with wide views and some fine old hedges.
